Walks off the Beaten Track

Have you ever wished that you were better at reading a map and using a compass?

We can run navigation training workshops for groups of up to 6 people - either complete novices or those wanting to brush up on skills which have become a touch rusty. Although there will be a short amount of theory, the majority of the day will be spent outdoors gaining the practical experience to help you feel confident of knowing where you are and how to get to where you want to go. Map and compass can be provided for those who do not have their own.
In recent years increasing numbers of walkers have been investing in GPS receivers to supplement traditional navigation skills. This is sometimes achieved with more enthusiasm than success, but we can run workshops, again for up to 6 people, on how to integrate the new technology with time-tested traditional techniques thus giving you the best of both worlds.

Outdoor clothing and boots should be worn on both of these workshops as most of them take place outside.

As with our walks, we arrange most of our navigation workshops to suit your needs and timings.
