Walks off the Beaten Track
Group Holidays

The Trossachs are a great place to spend a short holiday with your walking club or rambling group. It is also an area of the country which is frequently neglected by walkers and ramblers as they head north to the bigger hills of Lochaber or the Cairngorms - which is a great pity, as it has some stunning scenery and offers superb opportunities for both high and low level rambles.

We work closely with Gartmore House - a walker friendly facility right on the edge of the Trossachs, within 1 hour of central Scotland but still with good access to the hills. It is a beautiful 18th century mansion set in 75 acres of private land with friendly staff and en-suite rooms. Start the day with a full Scottish breakfast, then collect your pre-ordered packed lunch. After your walk, enjoy a 3 course dinner freshly prepared from local produce by their chefs, then relax or chat by the open fire in the lounge, spend quiet time in the library, or use their function room to run a ceilidh or dance.

Visiting an unfamiliar area can be logistically challenging to the organiser of a rambling holiday. But with an understanding of the needs of rambling groups we can help you to plan your visit and, with our knowledge of local and natural history, can add a huge amount of interest to your walks. And at Gartmore House you can always be confident that your group will be extremely comfortable and well fed.
